Leading lines lead the viewer's gaze into and around the image. Some leading lines lead us strait to the emphasis, while others just pull us deep into the picture. Effective leading lines take us visually through the picture without any detours.
Leading lines when not used properly however, can take the viewers gaze away from the Emphasis, or out of the picture plane too early.
Anything can act as a line. Keep your eyes opened!
Today the students were given the assignment of leading lines.
1. Choose an Emphasis. This can be anything, but this is what your picture will be about.2. Use leading lines to guide us visually to your Emphasis.
3. We will change these to black and white using photoshop. As you take your pictures look at the world in black and white.
